Puerto Rico designates popular beach as natural reserve

Puerto Rico's governor has declared one of the U.S. territory's most popular beaches as a natural reserve.
Alejandro Garcia Padilla says Mar Chiquita will now be managed by the island's Department of Natural Resources and that only ecotourism activities can be carried out in that area.
The beach is shaped like an open fan amid surrounding rock formations and is located in the northern town of Manati.
Garcia said Tuesday that the area has some 164 species, including several that are in danger of becoming extinct.

Under the agreement Kellogg's gets exclusive rights to make cereals and other tasty breakfast foods based on Dreamworks movies including Shrek 3 and Madagascar 2. Kellogg's will be responsible for promoting the foods, and therefore the movies, via in-store, TV and online ads. Kellogg's is just four years into what was supposed to be a 15-year agreement to do just this kind of thing for Disney but that deal's fate is now uncertain. Thousands to attend Campechada cultural festival in San Juan

Thousands of people will flock this weekend to Old San Juan, the historic colonial center of the Puerto Rican capital, to take part in activities of the 4th Campechada cultural and artistic festival. This year's event will be dedicated to Myrna Baez, 83, considered one of Puerto Rico's greatest painters and engravers.
